It's important to get to know one another on a personal level, well only the important stuff.

Here are 10 things you maybe, possibly had no idea about:
"Journalism can never be silent: that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault. It must speak, and speak immediately, while the echoes of wonder, the claims of triumph and the signs of horror are still in the air." - Henry Anatole Grunwald
Getting to know me, ...the real me
1. I'm Mexican, obviously hence the name. But no like really, really Mexican..I was born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico.
2. I lost my dad in a tragic car accident when I was only a third grader (9-years-old to be exact)...good news is, my mom married a man who never made me feel anything less than his daughter.

3. I have a strong passion for criminal investigations, if I hadn't gone into broadcasting I'd probably be a forensic anthropologist or crime scene investigator.
4. Sadly, I'm allergic to cats and dogs, but Zoe has helped change that just a tiny bit since March 14, 2016.
5. My mother is an amazing woman who I love so soo soooo much...she's pushed me to test my "looks" as a teen through modeling and beauty pageants. (She was a model and beauty contestant herself)
6. My first ever TV job was in Laredo, Texas. Guess I have a thing for border cities eh?

7. Hot sauce! Salsa, Jalapeños, Chili powder...Chamoy, anything with some sort of spice makes my tummy happy. I LOVE SPICY FOOD. I'm that person who adds hot sauce and lime to Hot Cheetos. (writing this makes my mouth water.)
8. I recently got engaged, and for my entire family that's a bit shocking. I tend to not have feelings UNLESS were talking about my career. That's the one thing that will make me break down each and every single day. But thanks to one lucky man he believes there's still hope, Gerald Tracy!

9. I attended a Catholic University, Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. Yes, it did USED to be an all girls school, but that is no longer the case. I enjoyed my college experience surrounded by the best professors in the field, even with a student population of LESS than 4,000.

10. Last but not least, I know I work in news but hey we all need a break from the crazy headlines, the touching stories and the crime. I usually don't watch TV but when I do...you can bet my Netflix playlist includes: The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, replays of Parks and Recreation, Bones, How to Get Away with Murder and anything with Karla Souza in it and the occasional novela!
