Alejandra Guzman

I joined Univision 41 San Antonio in October 2017 as a video journalist.

I came to South Texas from Midland, Texas after working two years as an anchor/bilingual reporter for NewsWest 9 and Telemundo 20. I began my reporting career in Laredo, Texas while working for Fox 39 and Univision 27 filling in as an anchor/producer. 

I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake University, the jewel of the West Side, in Multimedia Journalism.

Throughout my career, I have covered a wide range of stories, including Sutherland Springs shooting, Alpine High School's active shooter, Zuzu Verk's disappearance, human trafficking and narcotic seizures. My experience on the field stems from internships in entertainment and news with WOAI’s San Antonio Living and News 4 San Antonio, Fox’s Daytime and 9, Fox News First, Fox News at 9.

 

Being bilingual granted me a spot during Univision’s 41 Proyecto U as a sophomore in college. A dream I never thought I'd accomplish but after hard work I'm glad to say Univision is a dream come true.

While in college, I also produced, reported and anchored OLLU’s weekly newscast, became a sister of Kappa Delta Chi and a First Year Connection Executive Leader to help freshmen transition from high school to college.

My bilingual skills are thanks to being a native of El Paso, Texas. Journalism wasn’t always on my mind until I began modeling and pageant training for Miss Teen El Paso 2010.

 

On my time off I enjoy taking my dogs Zoe and Iba to the park, hiking and creating memories with friends and family.
